Choose to take individual one hour coaching conversation sessions on an as-needs basis or a discounted five-session package, which entitles you to telephone or email me as issues arise.
While at least an initial F2F meeting is a preferred option, I have held many successful coaching sessions with clients on the move and those based in the eastern states, using FaceTime, Skype and telephone to develop skills, abilities and the confidence critical to to achieving peak professional performance.
You may wish to undertake an online Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) ® assessment. MBTI is considered to be one of the most widely-used and reliable personality assessment tools.
I am passionate about assisting current and aspiring leaders and work with both individuals and teams to develop leadership skills. These will be tailored to particular needs and aspirations, but may include:
· developing your authentic leadership style,
guiding principles and values;
· effective communication of your vision;
· strategic thinking and effective decision making;
· building a personal brand;
· networking to build strong partnerships, advocates and champions;
· building future focussed, resilient teams, team engagement;
and much more.
I believe that developing leaders at all levels in the workplace, and most importantly, ensuring their learnings are shared across the organisation - referred to by Harvard as ‘edge centric strategy’ - is a major key to success.
As a female leader, I have been sought out to coach women at all levels. Having had some terrific results, I have been able to build on the valuable insights and lessons gained in my own career progression. Women leaders may experience a number of challenges in a more significant way than many, if not most, of their male colleagues. I am reminded of the, variously expressed, Sarah Hagi prayer: ‘Lord, give me the confidence of a mediocre white man!’
One surprise after I left my role as CEO, was the common lament from women in all sorts of workplaces, from multinational corporation to local not-for-profit, ‘It is as if they (boss, executive, colleagues) don’t hear me when I put forward a view or idea!” Over the past few years, I have developed and acquired some handy tools and strategies to ensure your voice is heard at the board or negotiating table.
Workshops can be tailored to your requirements and typically vary from half a day to two days. The buzzword is engagement, but this is pretty obvious, really. If you know and understand your team, their motivations and rewards, you will better able to get them on board.
Similarly they need to know and trust you, your vision, your values, and your judgement. If they are able to buy into the workplace values AND have a clear understanding of the key workplace guiding principles - the ‘ten’ commandments as it were – then you can liberate leadership to enhance the achievement of goals beyond normal expectations.
A tool like the Myers Briggs Type Indicator ® is invaluable in assisting the understanding and valuing of difference. I draw on my organisational experience as CEO, coaching expertise and marketing and communication skills, to ensure each session is engaging and that participants take away real insight and learning.
Considered to be one of the most widely used and reliable personality assessment tools, MBTI is a very effective mechanism for better workplace communication, dealing with conflict, stress management, self-reflection and career development. As CEO of a large training organisation, I saw the benefits of introducing MBTI to assist the building of a strong, effective and mutually supportive executive team. I hold MBTI accreditation which enables me to facilitate assessments and provide feedback to individuals and groups. Often people have some idea of their personality preference, although some self-help or poorly prepared assessments are misleading. This tool is particularly useful when there is team breakdown, so-called ‘difficult’ staff members, if you are in a career rut, or you simply want to be a better leader.
I have developed a helpful toolkit for those who wish to improve their presentations. I am a highly experienced presenter and facilitator. I am regularly invited as a speaker, often on leadership or women in leadership issues, and work with others to develop presentation skills for maximum impact. I have taken both the role of MC and presenter at local, national and international workshops and conferences. I can assist you with techniques to manage nerves, engage your audience and deal with challenges, like interruptions or flagging attention.
Goal setting can be immensely powerful in the workplace. An hour spent on determining and setting your goals could have a lasting career impact. Having goals for career will enable you to make valuable choices today, that will add real value in the future. Keep your key or transformational goals somewhere you can see them. I knew someone who struggling with maintaining a strategic rather than operational focus at work, kept a reminder on his keyboard.
This is an area where having a coach who can hold you accountable – if that is what you choose - is a great support. I often hear that people are too busy to do something or other. A wise perspective is to ask: ‘What are the consequences if this outcome is not achieved?” In fact, sometimes the most obvious questions can produce the best insights. Instead of asking ‘What should I do?’ try:’ What do I want?’
